US blamed for attack that killed dozens of children in Iran
It is reported that a US Tomahawk missile was fired at the Shajareh Tayyebeh Girls' Primary School in the city of Minab, Iran.
20 schools were attacked. Reports say between 165 and 180 people died, most of them children aged 7–12.
The attack is said to have been a double strike:
The first time a missile hit a school.
The school principal takes the surviving children to the prayer room and calls the parents to come and pick them up.
Later, another attack hit the place where they had taken refuge, causing many of the children who had taken refuge there to die immediately.
There are reports that Israel does not have Tomahawk missiles, but that they are only used by the US military.
The US military (CENTCOM) announced that it was investigating, and that it was likely that US forces carried out the attack. The school was located about 200 meters from the IRGC military base, according to satellite images.
At least 1,332 civilians, including women and children, have been killed in the US-Israeli war on Iran, and thousands more have been injured, Iran's UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani said on Friday.
