The so-called super manager won his case against MTN, demanding 380 million francs, but the court ruled that he should only be awarded 16 million francs in compensation for using his sentence without due process.

Gakumba Patrick, who is known as Super Manager, has sued MTN Rwanda PLC for Rwf380 million, claiming that the telecommunications company used his invention without his permission. The Nyarugenge Commercial High Court ruled on his lawsuit.

The court ruled that Gakumba Patrick should be paid 16 million Rwandan francs in damages. However, it ordered that the money be paid by YouTube channels All In One and GB Rwanda, rather than by MTN Rwanda PLC.

In the court's reasoning, it states that these YouTube channels were the ones who took Super Manager's work and gave it to MTN Rwanda PLC. They were the first to distribute these works, and therefore are responsible for paying.

Super Manager said he is unhappy with the court's ruling. He says he will appeal and be compensated by MTN Rwanda PLC, because the YouTube channels he was asked to pay for were destroyed.

He said, "The first thing is that I won, that's what matters and I'm proud of my country." He added that he was not satisfied because the YouTube channels signed a contract with MTN after he filed a complaint.

Super Manager says that the owners of these YouTube channels admit that this is what happened, which is why he believes that MTN should be the one paying compensation instead of the defunct YouTube channels.
