67 Labour MPs call on UK Prime Minister Starmer to resign
MPs have decided to impeach the prime minister.
More than 67 MPs from the UK's ruling Labour Party have called on Prime Minister Keir Starmer to resign, saying he is unable to lead the country as the people want.
Reason not to trust him
They argued that Starmer had failed to demonstrate the ability to lead the country to be re-elected in the next election. They believed that changes were needed.
Starmer refuses to resign
On May 11, 2026, Starmer announced that he would not resign. He said that he would prove his doubters wrong and that he would continue in his duties.

MP Chris Curtis said Starmer had not made the changes the country needed. He called for a new leadership that could deal with the challenges the UK faces.
Curtis warned the others
The Guardian reported that Curtis, a friend of the Health Minister, was the first to call for Starmer to resign, and others followed suit.
