According to a TV1 report, Leandre and four other young men had been drinking alcohol for days, celebrating the English Premier League title won by Arsenal. They drank it during several days of socializing.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 26, one of the young men came to see the other three where they were staying. By evening, Leandre was in critical condition. They quickly called an ambulance, but upon arrival they found him dead.

One of the residents said that the young men had been together since Monday, and they would go home and continue to drink alcohol known as "khiywa". He also said that Leandre was already suffering from epilepsy, and they had even banned him from drinking alcohol. However, because of his disability, he refused to give it up and continued to drink with his friends.

Another resident said: “My friend said, ‘Your friend, you know, it was alcohol that killed him.’” This highlighted the concerns of residents about the effects of these drinks, which are manufactured in a manner that does not comply with health guidelines and have killed people on various occasions.
