President Kagame chaired a meeting of the RPF Politburo

On Friday, July 17, 2026, President Paul Kagame, who is also the Chairman of the RPF Inkotanyi, chaired a meeting of the party's Politburo. The meeting was attended by over 2,000 people from all regions of the country and from various levels. The aim was to reiterate the party's political line and review its performance.

President Kagame highlighted that the political line of the RPF Inkotanyi is different from others. He said, “The politics I understand, the RPF policy is to confront problems and seek solutions. There is no other policy.” He said that the community should not be talking about false or fabricated policies, because such policies bring more problems instead of solving problems.

President Kagame said that the RPF Inkotanyi has its own identity, a long history and sufficient values. He said, “The history of the RPF Inkotanyi explains how Rwandans want their country and gives rise to the responsibilities of each individual.” He reminded that the country’s aspirations are achieved through the efforts of its citizens, where the responsibility ends with the individual and ends with us all.

In his speech, President Kagame once again asked Rwandans not to wait for others to come to their aid, but to strive to help themselves and gain self-respect. He said, “Look back and remember the problems we have gone through as Rwanda. Even today, Rwanda has not stood up to do something for itself, to achieve its goals, and now you are in vain.” This showed that self-reliance is the heart of RPF politics.

He continued by saying that this meeting aims to reiterate the responsibilities of developing the country. He reminded the participants that every leader and citizen has a role to play in building a new Rwanda, based on unity, good governance and work. He highlighted that the achievements so far are the result of the dedication and collaboration of Rwandans.

President Kagame said that politics based on lies and seeking ways to deceive the people will not lead the country anywhere. He said, “The politics of lies, of fabrication, of seeking ways to deceive. That gives you more problems.” He called on the RPF leaders to be a role model in transparency, integrity and in solving real problems.

He reminded the participants that leadership requires being close to the people, understanding their problems and finding solutions quickly. He said that the RPF is strong because it came from the people and continues to serve them. He requested that this meeting help to create new strategies to address the problems of the economy, education, health and general development.

Overall, the meeting was marked by reflection and self-examination. President Kagame concluded by saying that Rwanda's success is based on unity, sincerity and refusal to back down. He reminded that the RPF-Inkotanyi will continue to follow the path of confronting the challenges facing the country and finding practical solutions so that Rwanda can continue to progress and unite.
